themonk3y
I have seen on a few web hosting websites where they offer a web hosting plan for around $4-6 and then they offer WordPress web hosting for a higher cost which would be around $8-12. What is the difference between the two ? You can install a WordPress on all of the hosting plans so why do they have a specific WordPress plan these days ? What are the special WordPress features offered in the WordPress hosting plan ?
Administrators Nathan Posted July 18, 2014 Administrators Share Posted July 18, 2014 They are both one in the same. You're on a box with many others sharing all the resources.

If they are both the same then why do they charge for the WordPress hosting ?
retraction
I'm no expert on this topic, but I think the Wordpress hosting has the one-click installer. They also might have dedicated wordpress directories automatically made for you. Performance is identical though and you would be fine with regular hosting. Just set up with your Wordpress with Fantastico (comes in most hosting panels) or do a five minute manual install.

Just set up with your Wordpress with Fantastico (comes in most hosting panels) or do a five minute manual install. The one click installer is being offered in their shared hosting plan as well so that is not the difference. I am using a regular hosting. I came across WordPress hosting some time ago I was just eager to know the difference in features or performance between the two.
alash
While they both may seem the same I would of thought that the wordpress hosting will be much higher spec server and will be optimised for wordpress like normal hosting isnt.
