KenBrace
When it comes to web design Notepad++ is the best code editor out there in my opinion. The formatting, auto-correct, etc. are great. Some editors overdo the auto-formatting and try to predict your every move which can be quite annoying. Notepad++ is perfect though. I'll have to check it out. Is there any reason in particular that you like using it?
Administrators Nathan Posted February 19, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 19, 2015 More intuitive interface and code coloring, it's a full IDE. Also on any save it uploads to FTP, I can clone from GIT, commit to GIT etc...all from the program. https://www.jetbrains.com/phpstorm/ KenBrace
Flandre Scarlet
I like to use Notepad++ when I go for some fast and easy coding at home, it's quick and clean. At work I always had to use Eclipse, or Eclipse Studio, and I never really got used to it. It felt pretty clunky and slow in comparison to Notepad++. I also used Borland, Visual Studio and Webstorm (I think that's how it was called) for a while before I discovered Notepad++.
protoboard
I used to use Notepad++. I think it's an amazing text editor and also value the fact that it's open source but I'm not an active user any more. The reason was that I knew of Sublime Text 2. It's not open source but it's (pretty much) free to use and I can't think of something that Notepad++ or any other editor has that ST2 hasn't and I just like it better than any other. digitalsatori
I love Notepad++, but I'm also very fond of SublimeText. I love the live preview window! http://www.sublimetext.com/
protoboard
Hey digitalsatori I wasn't aware of live preview for Sublime Text. That's another great thing about that text editor. There are lots of plugins to extend its capabilities.
AtlantaSports
I have used Notepad++ before, and it seems to be an easy to use, simple kind of program. I agree with your complaint about the auto-editing, because sometimes that does more harm than good.

I agree with your complaint about the auto-editing, because sometimes that does more harm than good. I think Notepad++ thought they were falling behind so in their latest version they included a bunch of new auto correct functionality. I honestly didn't like that and turned most of it off. The reason I liked them is because of the simply, fast, and solid feeling I get when I use it. I'd like to donate a little to the developers. Might do that today. Indeed, me too I'm using Notepad++ for Android ROM customization. I liked the feature of auto correct and I've modified easier than other text editor or code editor out there. I edited build.prop many times using this software. I hope I can try sublime text and PHPstorm too.
EZEQUIAS
Notepad ++ is great for small project programming, its automatic correction becomes very enjoyable. But I prefer the simplicity of the sublime text 2.
wallet
I have been using it in the past, Notepad++ is the best code editor because it has a higher execution speed and smaller program size.
Bravosi
Yeah, I use it. First of all it's very basic and user friendly, and secondly, it's highly efficient if you ask me.
NerdIndeed
I've used it before when coding C++. That was a long time ago, and the one recommended that time was Borland or something. Kaushik
I use Notepad++ for editing my XML files. It is the best editor available. Shows you the line numbers too and very easy to notice and locate in errors in XML files. It is the default editor in my PC.

Hehe. It's a free source editor, so why the heck not. Gonna remember the good old days.
Alania
I was using the regular Notepad, until I've discovered that Notepad++ exists. Obviously it's a much stronger tool, but strangely I find myself using the regular one for basic tasks, because it's a habit already. I feel more comfortable using it. Nostalgic feeling is great and all, but using the old Notepad just feels overall more comfortable. I use the Notepad++ (which is great too btw) to perform harder and more difficult tasks. kx8
Isn't Notepad++ also used in creating mods for Sims? I think I've seen it being used as it's always mentioned on Sims mod description.
nekonieden
When I was in highschool we were taught to encode in notepad but at that time, I did not understand any lessons as I don't have yet interest in this field from those times. Martinsx
Notepad++ is the best in my opinion because it gives you quick path way to run quick edits on your design. There are other tools available to use for this project but Notepad++ is the best.
