fishbate
Is WIX a great way to start a website? I heard they have free hosting and a website builder. Is it really good? or there are something else into it when you subscribe on their services? Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated... Administrators Nathan Posted March 14, 2018 Administrators Share Posted March 14, 2018 It’s not bad but your limited on functionality. I think it’s a good setup for a smaller static type of website. Not sure how it performs in SEO though.
fishbate
Yup your right, i checked their site and there are limitations specially on free subscriptions. Although they have premium options which have some site tools like SEO, Analytics, and mail Domains you have to invest in it.
Administrators Nathan Posted March 15, 2018 Administrators Share Posted March 15, 2018 Do you already have the know-how of creating a website? If so pickup a host and you should be fine for that cost, don't need WIX unless you need a fully front-end builder.
WisTex
My experience with WIX and other do it yourself "website builder" services out there is that they are good for certain types of websites, and horrible for others. If you are looking to create a brochure website that talks about what your business can do, perhaps with a small amount of e-commerce, then something like this will work. But, once you start needing advanced functionality or if you dislike how WIX implemented something, you are going to be disappointed and limited. WIX and similar services are usually used by non-web developers who just want a simple and inexpensive website. In my opinion, it may be a great starter website for those who don't want to spend a lot of money to get started, but if your website or business grows, you could easily outgrow WIX too, because you will typically start needing functionality they do not offer. It's really different when it comes to planning and reality. I have been into technology business for quite sometime mainly hardware and automation related projects. I started exploring web development and integration to enhance my capability and knowledge. Although i think i have the basic skills to achieve my goals, i was not progressing at all until i decided to seek help from you guys. Just reading the posts and comments here have greatly increased my know how and awareness. I salute you guys...
JayRob2212
I have read on other blogs and forums that most professionals can actually tell when it's a website made from a template. While they are handy for a small business or minor tasks, they do not work well for SEO and bigger websites with more demanding tasks.
