How Do You Monetize Your Blogsite?

There's a lot of Bloggers around but sadly they don't know how to effectively monetize their Blogsite.

What are your ways of monetizing your Blogsite?  And how much do you earn from it?

Well, the most common ways are:

1. Place ads on your website such as AdSense.
2. Place super targetted affiliate links.
3. Promote your own product or service.

Years ago I used to have a Caribbean website which earned hundreds of dollars a month in ad revenue. One month we peaked at about $1000 per month. We had enough traffic to create that revenue. The numbers apparently went down after I left the company.

I've also had some luck with affiliate links, but only if they are super targetted and relevant to the visitors. I never made a lot using this method, but I think I could have implemented things better and perhaps will try some different tactics next time. It was still money coming in though, so it was nice supplemental income.

Yes, you can monetize Tumblr the same way as any blog.

For ads, you would need to embed code onto your blog, and for products and services you would need to write about your product and service in a compelling manner without sounding too spammy.

There are various ways that you can actually make money from a blog that include adding advertisements to your site, affiliate marketing and even allowing sponsored content to be posted on your blog. The advertisements is, of coruse, the easiest and one of the best ways to make money from a blog because as long as you keep getting a lot of traffic to your blog, you will earn money. Affiliate marketing is a bit harder but if you can do it properly and well then you can make a lot more than you would with advertising. 

In terms of sponsored content, companies or even individual users would basically pay you to have something related to their company posted on your blog.

I know people like to use ad network to place targeted ads on their sites to make money but I really prefer direct ad placement from companies more.These offers come with more money and one can placed any ads and wouldn't need people clicking on it for payment to be made.
