I agree there stats maybe hyped. I've yet to meet anyone that uses Google. The worst thing about it, is the interface. It's not like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. These platforms are very easy to use. Google+ is  confusing and messy.I only use it once in a while to look at travel destinations on my bucket list. I'm really surprised at Google. Considering they have one of the most popular search engines, can they not find a way to direct traffic to Google+. This is not rocket science, just improve user experience and offer features not found on any other social media sites.

I also agree with you @Kakashi2020 and @jaymish. Google+ is just so "unnecessary". I mean, Google being the most popular search engine, I don't understand why their social media platform is just so messy and confusing. It's also not 'user-friendly' considering it's a social media site. I actually used it once and thought it was meant for blogging or whatsoever until I realized it was meant to be like Facebook and Twitter. The whole Google+ is just so confusing that most people don't even bother to use it. However, I'm not saying that it's totally useless, it's just that for me it's 'unnecessary'.

In my opinion, they screwed up the interface and that is why it didn't take off. And earlier versions didn't load quickly. It just felt like a lot of posts and didn't really feel like a community. The profiles didn't seem that appealing in looks either. They didn't really integrate with their other services very well. It felt Google+ was just an addon. The only thing that really worked was the Google+ Communities.

It felt as if they approached it as "we need to build a social network" instead of "what would users find useful." It wound up being a poorly executed mess.

I think of google+ as a sample of a bad social media platform, first of all it's not user friendly, they made it complicated enough that when you land on it, you don't know what to do next.  I can't believe google made it,  it's such a waste.  I have read the reports then before it was launched saying google copied Facebook and made it better and after I've seen google+ well, I was surprised because who ever was in charge of its development should have just copied Facebook and made it more simpler and not the opposite.

Yeah, it was very poorly designed. I actually was really into promoting on social media when they first launched it, and I wanted so much to use Google+, but even though I was a fan, it felt fruitless to do so. Unless you were posting in a community, no one noticed any of your posts. Perhaps that is why the Communities took off, but individual profile posts did not. Google+ Communities was the only place people actually saw your content in sufficient numbers to make it worth it.

There are a lot of problems with Google+, which is weird because you would think something developed by a massive company like Google would be much better. Like you said, I'm sure they make their statistics look a lot better than they are. The best thing for them is that it uses the same Google account that most of us already have, so they can easily say for example that I am a member of Google+ when really I don't use it at all.

The biggest problem for them was that Facebook and Twitter, and even some of the other smaller social media sites were just too good for them to even compete with. No one was really going to leave those sites and start using Google+ when it basically did the same things as those sites.

I didn't ever see the point in it, just something else to maintain.  I heard years ago it was a project that was going to be closed down, but it's still up...

A lot of SEO tools also say "You're missing a Google +" page which I ignore, but maybe there's a trick to that.

Google tried to copy Facebook and created google+ according to google,  it's a better social media platform than Facebook.  That's the reason I don't believe in google in the first place.:D
