How to build good Backlinks?

Backlinks are sites that are linked to your site  making your site more authoritative and this is what google is looking at, it's the most important metric in SEO, and you must spend some time to build them in order for your site to gain more organic traffic.  What then is the best way to creaye backlinks?

Manually, most any automated way I've seen will eventually cause you issue with Google.

I'm all ears on this one. The best way in my opinion is creating valuable content and finding a way to get links back to your site. Using forums or sites like Quora where you answer questions and provide links back to your sites. I also like Youtube and Facebook as a way of doing this. However with the constant Google updates its becoming tricky. I heard Google does not really approve of linking from forums. My take is that in future, this kind of linking may not be allowed. But like everything online, I'm sure we will find new ways of getting around this.

I am late to comment on this post but Related to good backlinks, I am confused about Do-follow and No-follow backlinks.

Which one should be considered a good backlink ? Do-follow or No-follow ?

Do-Follow are weighted way better than no-follow for sure.
