Tips for increasing traffic to your site?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I'm thinking of starting a blog. I'm learning how to build a blog using WordPress right now. I think building the website and writing content is kind of on the easier side compared to generating traffic for your site.

Do you have tips on how to increase traffic on your site? I think this will be the part that I will be having a hard time. I tried to make a free blog when I was a kid and I hardly have any visitors. :(

Thanks! :D

If you want to increase traffic to your blog than there are positive and negative ways to doing so, including;

Positive ways:
1. You can write more insightful blog posts that people will want to share.
2. You can get involved in some communities related to your niche who will want to share posts from users who share with the community.
3. You could do something really original that no one else has done before which will keep you near to the top of Google for related search terms.

Negative ways:

1. You can trick people into clicking on your articles by using clickbait titles.
2. You could spam subreddit's related to your posts.
3. you could panda to what your audience wants.

Thanks for the tips! I'm currently working on my writing to make more quality content. I am also trying to write more original content as much as possible.

I think my audience will hate me if I write clickbait titles often. Can you explain what "panda to what your audience wants" mean?

When I say panda, I meaning pandering to your audience. pandering is where you only write content that your audience will enjoy ready and avoiding any subjects that challenge any of their ideals.

This is what a lot of news organisations do as most people hate having their opinions challenged and will stop reading from websites that do so.

Quora would have been a great platform for you to sell yourself unfortunately they tend to remove contents with back-links and click baits.

You could also check out Medium but your writing skills has to be very engaging to captivate the audience, but it can open doors for you if you are good enough.

I think it is the way I will be heading if ever I start regularly writing for my blog. I would like to listen to what my audience want.

May I know why you listed it in the negative ways? It seems fine to me because you are giving your loyal readers what they want. Thanks!

You can make use of SEO to build up traffic. Give more emphasis on keywords as these play a vital role in bringing traffic to your blog.

Make sure the content is top notch, More the content quality more will be the number of people visiting your blog. Also add a comment's section and use a good Anti Spam filter to avoid spammers. Answer people's questions and interact with your users. Use a good mix of text, images and videos wherever necessary.

SEO are the predominant way to generate traffic. Because of this you need to optimize your website to get the higher rank primarily based at the keyword focused on. Search engine optimization is still the most effective way to get traffic without spending a dime and you actually need to invest some time and efforts within the optimization of your site. Good luck!

One way to increase traffic and I find it effective is to connect it with social media platform especially facebook.  The number of users are huge and wider in scope. This is a good promotional site.  Any product or services  will easily be recognize and widely spread. Don't forget to add interesting content that are useful and entertaining. This will hold a client/ reader  interest to know your site or product.

Being a guest content writer is a good way to promote your website. The hard part is writing an engaging content and finding a good site. You can also use a social media platform to promote your site. Also, use SEO.

Well i think that the first and the foremost thing when it come to starting a new Blog is to come up with quality content consistently. Once you are able to create good content for your blog you are bound to get some viewers with time. Marketing you work on the Social Media platforms is definitely a very effective way to increase free traffic to your blog.

This might be repetitive as I always tend to say, but writing a blog is one way to get traffic to your website. You've got to make top-notch quality content thought to make it happen. I suggest you write something about things that are relevant and engaging to visitors. It's not going to be an easy ride as a start up but then it pays well in the long run once you start attracting visitors.

I'm a bit ashamed of asking this, but in what exactly does traffic consist? I know it's people visiting your site, but are you paid for that? If so, who pays you? Or you want to increase traffic only for people to get to know your site and what you offer there?

Ideally, if you're an average person, let's say a blogger who sells something, then you benefit from the traffic by getting increased audience. They might interact with stuff on your website, for example buying something. Moreover, they might watch an ad or two, which will bring you extra profit (if you connected Google AdSense like myself).
