fishbate Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Would you believe that this pretty face is just artificial? Yup this pretty girl or it look liked , is made from metal, plastic, a computer and a bunch of codes. This one belongs to japans AI robots that is used as a receptionist. Think about being pretty forever... I have to play it over and over just to make sure that its really a robot.... Nathan and TheInsaneSakif 2 Quote
jaybee Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 What?! Is this really a robot? How? Like it really looks like a real human tho. It's skin is the same as human skin and it's eyes, they like look real wth. I have never thought this kind of thing could really happen in real life because I've only seen this concept on a Korean drama entitled I'm not a Robot. Japan is really good with technology tho, I'm amazed. Quote
EfficientNinja Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Wow. It really looks like a real human. It's not only the AI software that has improved but the appearance of the robots too! This could be a threat to the jobs of the hotel and other establishments' front desk representatives. Quote
hoppip93 Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 It's not a robot, but it's a good impersonation of a robot/android by a real human. The skin and eyes give it away, and the way it was shot does not reveal more of its other features to hide the fact that it's a real human. From what I know, it's an advertisement for the upcoming game Detroit: Become Human (you can see it playing in the background with the title card above). Quote
jaymish Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 I agree, its a robot. Look at its body language and the way it moves. It moves in the most unnatural way.The skin and the eyes look natural. But if you look closely you will realize that it doesn't blink. A human being blinks all the time. Lol! I think AI is the future of work. They are some jobs where it has become too hard to find someone willing to do them. A receptionist is a tedious job. In my country you can only find teenagers or young adults willing to do this. They are also not very good at it. However I wonder how a robot will do this. Can it think outside the box in a crisis for example. Interesting times! Quote
aecel Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Wow, she is really like a human. Amazing how they did on her skin and eyes it looks real. I just recently watched I am not a Robot it's a Korean TV series a professor made a female robot who looks like a human. Technology nowadays is really changing those technologies that we've seen in movies is happening now. I'm excited to see cars flying in the future. Quote

JayRob2212 Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 After going through the YouTube comments and seeing the game advert in the back, I am 99.999999% sure that this is NOT a robot. She seems to be an actor playing an android. The game, Detroit, is about androids so it makes sense. One of the most advanced artificial beings is Sofia and she is still very far from looking like a real human. https://youtu.be/S5t6K9iwcdw Quote
fishbate Posted April 27, 2018 Author Posted April 27, 2018 Well it really fooled me. Too scary when you couldn't even a human from a robot. Your right @JayRob2212 , Sofia was the most advance in terms of intelligence and learning capability. But there are robots that are specialized in movements and gestures, there are also robots that are good in their appearance. Quote
mitan143 Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 This is exactly why I like Japan. Their technology is beyond the expectation. At the first glance, you will never believe that it is actually a robot but if it is just human-made then so be it. Technology nowadays are very powerful and amazing, this creation is one example. She's really cute though, and this robot's skin is just very amazing for it became like real human's. I think this might be their first step to replace human's job and well that is kind of alarming to me. Quote

You got it right, it is a publicity stunt, a real human being having impersonated an robot/android, used by Quantic Dream the makers of the game Detroit: Become Human. This sure is an example of good advertisement, having captured millions of curious audience thus making them equally curious of the game as well. The game will be released worldwide this 25th of May. TheInsaneSakif Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 I've clearly mistaken her for a real human. I mean the way her eyes blink and the way she moves, she closely resembles a human being. It's quite scary to see what A.I (artificial intelligence) can do. It's just getting more and more realistic! But, I do have to say that I dislike the idea of robots trying to imitate humans. I mean they are just machines right, with no flesh and blood?! People who are involved in the making of robots are actually trying to compete with God. Quote

Yeah, it's a great way of advertising through a viral video. I can't believe a lot of people got fooled, though. Quote
Joey Mercado Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Due to advance technologies nowadays and since people are thinking more in the future that is why robot nowadays are not an excuse when we think about advance technology. The video may be a robot or not but it just implies one thing, That there is a possibility that in the near future robot will be look like a real human , so natural but except the natural ways and critical thinking how human thinks and acts. And in the other hand let's accept the fact that some humans think like a robot.. I hope i did not offend anyone , this is just base on my experience ,thank you Quote
EfficientNinja Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 This will be more improved in the future. I can't wait to see what advanced AI and better robots design could deliver in the future. We may be unable to distinguish if we are talking to a real human and a robot if we reach that point. Quote
Vinsanity Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Yes I have seen this in the social media as well. I was amazed by how much us humans can create something human-like inventions. It is a bit creepy though, the fact that they can dominate the world once these evolve into more advanced AI as what we used to see in movies like Terminator. Quote
mhingnhormz Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Don't be fooled by this pretty face: I also seen this in youtube and it really amazed me until now that I've seen it again. We can't really predict what the high technology can do this time but I am also a little worry of this kind of invention. What if those kind will already been part of our society and the worst being one of the leader, it is not impossible technology keep on improving and making unbelievable things. Quote
axl2468 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Dear god, that is just creepy. The idea of artificial robots looking like us unsettles me. It's crossing the line of the "uncanny valley". Quote
