Should I learn both HTML or HTML 5 o just HTML5?

I've messed around with both languages but always find people saying that HTML is kind of deprecated, and since HTML5 maintains a lot of principles of HTML, it's more practical focusing on HTML5.

I don't think learning HTML would be completely unbeneficial, but maybe it's true that learning only HTML5 will do.

What do you think?

There's differences between HTML and HTML5. Few of these are the audio and video which are both integral part of HTML5. I think HTML5 allows JavaScript to run and HTML doesn't allow it. It's also consisntet with improved codes. It wouldn't hurt if you want to learn HTML, but I think HTML5 would be a better option for you to focus on.

Html 5 is the latest inclusion and also its better from a learning perspective. You can all the desired tags and also it is better suited with java script for form validations.

Maybe you should learn both because it's better to know more also it gives you the opportunity for some jobs which include html5 and HTML today I worked as a programmer in PHP and I used notepad++ for me its not the software, it's your knowledge you better study hard to achieve your goal in life as a programmer.

It's more better if you'll learn both HTML and HTML5. The more knowledge you'll gain the better skills you get. Though HTML is a constituent of neither audio and video while HTML5 can do both, HTML would make the other much more excellent than only including itself.

HTML5 is by far is the most advanced version of the HTML standard created to to open up a whole new world of multimedia possibilities for designers and developers alike. Therefore it would be better to learn HTML 5 as it offers you a diverse range of new elements, attributes, and technologies to help you enhance the look, feel, structure and functioning of your web projects.

Learning HTML5/CSS3 is learning HTML/CSS. They're just the newest versions of the languages. If you learn one version of HTML or CSS, it's fairly trivial to write in another version.

There are different versions of HTML.

HTML5 is just the latest version, and that means that it has absolutely the same stuff as the previous version of HMTL + some additional features.

It is true that nowadays we all are using HTML 5 which is far advance then HTML, but for a fresher, I will recommend learning HTML first then switch to Html 5 as it is the base and it will make HTML 5 very easy for you. HTML 5 is the base of Language and very simple, it would hardly take 14 days to learn.
