Siddy
As a website consultant I have seen that many of my clients would wait for the last day when the opt in for renewing their Web Hosting Subscription. Despite the fact that many of these Web Hosting Providers have a Auto Renew kind of feature enabled, yet, it remains something which many of my clients do not prefer. They cite different reasons - Privacy, unease of sharing credit card information and even what if they close out or go rogue! - yeah, weird ones too come across! I, however, on the other hand, always recommend that you keep your hosting update with the payments to avoid the last minute hassles. Though almost all good web hosting providers do give you a grace period - wherein they keep your stuff with them safe before they start purging out your files etc, still, I see no reason for anyone to wait and risk missing out the payments to them. So let me be straightforward and ask you - When do you decide to make the next payment to your Web Hosting Provider? I mean - a. Do you use their auto renew feature (if they have one) OR b. Do you make a payment manually before the last date for renewal OR c. Wait until the last possible day for renewing Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas
Alania
To be honest, my memory slightly poor. I always forget stuff that must be done in a certain period of time, and it overwhelms me to remember them because I have a lot on my mind usually and I tend to simply purchase something ahead. For example, I've paid my cellphone operator for the entire 2019 year, so I wouldn't forget the monthly payment (got also a discount). Same goes for the web hosting. I simply pick packages that will allow me to rest my thoughts from "paying to the provider in time".
Jelineex
I would go for monthly payment to avoid hassle. I want to make sure that I have the capacity to pay. This will lessen the burden especially in financial matters. This will also gives me the freedom to disregard the provider in case I am not satisfied with the services. I know that there is a discount if you pay the whole amount for year but I prefer on monthly basis. It's also a good mind activity to reminder the billing due date. rlpzbeermoney
It's all about how much time you want to allot on this. Most web hosting sites are trustworthy enough to give out your credit card information. If you're really paranoid, get a prepaid card that you load money into whenever you want to make a purchase. But for me, I'd go with manual payment 1 day before the deadline. I'm not that rich where I can just pay a bill out at the first day of the month like that. foxprojects
The problem is that many hosting provider pull shenanigans like giving new customers a discounted introductory price for 2 or 3 years of hosting, but then charging them the regular price when it's time to renew. This regular price can be several times higher. Therefore, if I was on a month to month plan with a host, I wouldn't really mind setting up some type of automatic payment plan or paying for a few months in advance. However, if I paid for a year or more of hosting in advance, I would be wary of having the provider automatically renew my subscription. Martinsx
Well, from the way I see it, your web hosting renewal should be determined by what and how you seem to carry out your work. If it's important to set up your work without having an hassle, it's best to have a specific date or day fixed up for you monthly renewal.
