Tik-Tok: Will We Get a New Wave of Influencers?

Vine brought a lot of talent and personages into the public eye back when it was still functional. Given the similarity of Vine and the new short-video platform Tik-Tok, do you think the new site will encourage people to make the sort of content which would make them ideal as social media influencers? Or do you think that the hype's died down for that medium?

I doubt it. Tik Tok is more like musically than Vine and musically didn't produce "influencers" per se like Vine did. It's because in Vine and musically, it's just them doing skits over music/voice overs. There's no "popularity contest" in Tik Tok I believe like there was in Vine and that brought people like Jake and Logan Paul to be influencers.

It's been downloaded about 80 million times in the United States, and nearly 800 million times worldwide, according to data from mobile research firm Sensor Tower. Those figures exclude Android users in China. Users share short videos of themselves cooking, dancing, lip-syncing or doing regular tasks like brushing their teeth. The videos, which often feature music in the background, can be sped up, slowed down or edited with a filter. Similarly to Instagram, users can follow others and "heart" or comment on videos. TikTok videos are also being reposted to other platforms, like Twitter and Instagram.

But unlike Vine where the content creators themselves are posting their Vines to Youtube, Instagram, Twitter and/or Facebook, Tik Tok users aren't. And maybe that's the problem why we aren't seeing "Tik Tok stars" the same way Viners did back when it was alive.

What is Tik-Tok exactly? I always see the app being advertised on YouTube. Is it a new form of video sharing website that creators can also earn from or is it like a social media platform like Facebook and Instagram?

Tik tok is gaining popularity these days. I hope it becomes successful like Dubsmash and give us some more entertainment in the future. I have been getting a lot of ads on my internet search and on facebook relating to Tik Tok these days.

I think not because ticktock its a music video or something  which not a good concept of influence I think it's better to have a campaign on what the worlds now and why nature influence us, we should make some app that thinks about world not an app that only fame a person for those dumb video crazy something.

Tiktok seems to be an interesting and fun app. I was able to use it together with my colleagues. I'm not quite sure though if it has the power to be social media sites that has a lot of users. It seems to be more of an app for fun.

With its growing base, it won't be impossible for Tiktok to be used as an avenue by new influencers in the future. It seems interesting, however my concern is that it's not unique - it seems quite similar to musical.ly or vine.

It is a leading short video platform in Asia, United States and has extended to other parts of the world. In 2018, the application gained popularity and became the most downloaded app in the U.S. in October 2018. As of 2018, it's available in over 150 markets, and in 75 languages. The application allows users to create short videos of 15 seconds, as of July 2018, the app has achieved more than 500 million global users across 150 countries.

Well, I heard that you earn sort of coins to help "musers" by sending them virtual gifts. But these gifts are still used within the the platform so I am not too sure if "musers" really earn money by using the app.
