How can I make my first website?

Hello. I'm interested in setting up my first  website. I'd like to know what steps I should follow. I've learned some HTML if that helps a little. I want something free so I can get the ropes of how to administer a site. I'm fine if it's something like a blog.

Reading this makes me realize that it's not easy to put up a website for your business or others. It sure takes time and effort, but, it will definitely be worth it in the end.

Thanks for the replies! I thought registering a domain was free, though. I actually was more interested in free options like a blog on Blogger (if that still exists) since it seems the process of setting your blog and making entries looks pretty simple. That's not to say I don't want to learn how to set up a website, though, I just want a simpler way to start sharing my ideas.

I think it better to use some website for blogs because it gives ideas about what the world can be in my part, but if you want to a make a newbie website for the first time I think you should try first blogging before that, but if you have broad knowledge on how to build a good website go for it, but if not study first before creating because creating a website is not such that simple you need to have broad knowledge on what site or design can attract customer if the website is e-commerce also if the website is blog what topic could attract people curiosity.

Within that category you’ll have lots of subcategories that are more specific. For example, “Business” breaks down into “Consulting,” “Services,” and “Marketing”. There are 100s of templates, so no matter what you’re creating a website for, you’ll find it here.

           There are hundreds of different website building platforms and website builders around the market. WordPress, Wix, Joomla, Drupal… Just to name a few. You can also code your website from scratch, but I wouldn’t recommend it on mainly two reasons:It just takes too much time (seriously). Your end result will be mediocre at it’s best…

It's good read on your comments since it gives me an awareness about making a domain name. I understand that it's not an easy task to make a name that sustain to visitor's attention. It is a challenging activity. Anyone who plans to have website should do research and study before deciding. This will give an edge to dwell or grow on whatever fields we want to. If you want a convenient option, you can try using website builders such as Weebly and Wix. These are my two favorite ones, and my school organization has been using Weebly for our website for years now. Both are really easy to use and you'll have a functioning site in no time.

Most offer limited services for free sites and typically place advertisements on your site.
