Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, just a few of the well-known social medial platforms that are frequented by millions of people everyday. But there are smaller sites who are slowly but surely filling niches that the bigger sites might have neglected. Do you have any suggestions for alternative social media platforms which you think may become the next big thing?

I am very much willing to welcome new social media platform. I hope that all the best features from each social media platform can be combined into one powerhouse social media. If in coffee, we have three in one, it will be beautiful if it will happen also in social media platform. It could be great and wonderful if it happens. What is best in Facebook, what is best feature in YouTube and other platforms will be combined into one.

I have no idea of any alternative social media platform existing these days. It will be a challenge for any developer /programmer to create a platform that is more interesting than the existing giants. People are becoming active and interactive on social media activity. Awareness is more updated and users are becoming intelligent compared before. They have more wants and needs. So, any developer should response on what is best that satisfy the needs of the users.

Steemit.com is one of my favorite networking site right now. The platform works on block-chains technology so you could sort of earn while doing what you usually do in a social networking site. There are rules to follow though but once you get used to them, they are easy to form into a habit and you won't even have to think about them. I think it is one site worth checking out.

Honestly I really don't have any available ideas on some new social media sites that we can used for different purposes as I am still in the process of learning new ideas to make my life more easier and comfortable. I have only a limited knowledge when it comes to some social media sites and it would be nice if I will learned more about it especially now that we are in the modern age of technology.

I don't know any social media sites that are close enough to the level of the most popular and widely used social media sites that are mentioned above. So far so good for those that are on top. Maybe if there is one site that can provide more than the top social media sites can provide, then, they can be able to be on that level.

Steemit, Voat and Gab are those that I can think of. Of course, they don't have the same amount of popularity as the big platforms, but they can give you some exposure and SEO benefits. It never hurts to establish a presence for your business on a wide range of different social media sites.

I've only really delved into the regular channels - Instagram, Facebook and Twitter are used by my business at present. Hoping to expand that in the not too distant future, but I always appreciate personal recommendations from people about which platforms they've used and had success with. It can be daunting trying to delve into a new platform without having some kind of feedback about how it performs.

I honestly am contented with the social media accounts that I have right now. As of the moment, I wouldn't try those rising media platforms as I'm sure that my friends haven't tried it yet. It would be meaningless if I enter a platform without any actual friend. Well, it's good to gain friends, but, isn't it great if you have someone who understands you in a sea of strangers?

There was a time that I almost joined every social media platform. But then because of busyness in life, I forgot to go through each one of them I only have time for two or three social media platform. I have learned then that it will really eat up all of your time if you will enter all those social media sites.

An alternative social media I know is Diaspora. This website commits to itself as a social world online that puts your data back in your hands. Its features are almost similar to Facebook wherein the users can post statuses, share photos and comment on other people's posts. Diaspora also make use of hashtags and enables your Facebook account to be linked to it. Lastly, it's and open source project.

So far it is only Instagram that made waves as a new social media in the big league. There are countless of newcomers but social media is a unique industry because the players are dependent on the number of users. There is one social media that is getting more users every day but it is not a regular social media because the members earn something. The earnings is what makes it popular. Pardon me if I do not name it here.

Here is one social media alternative: MeWe. MeWe calls themselves The Next-Gen Social Network. They raised $4.8 million and launched back in 2016 to take on Facebook and Twitter. They’re about 6 million members strong so far and Mark Weinstein, the founder, plans for it to be 500 million by 2022. “In the future, MeWe will also revolutionize social media with decentralization, which will render Facebook’s spying and tracking data model completely obsolete,” Weinstein added, a comment that suggests he is indeed trying to replace Facebook. “Awareness around the world has never been higher regarding news feed manipulation and privacy infractions. Government regulations will never truly interfere with Facebook’s data collection model, evidenced in both California’s new 2020 privacy rules and Europe’s GDPR. But the free market can — and MeWe is here giving people great communication technology in a true multi-feature platform, with none of Facebook’s BS.”

I am perusing this thread to learn of startup or smaller social media sites or apps that people use nowadays. I am not much of a social media user and only know of the popular ones that people use but I know that social media is important to broaden your network online which can help you with some online jobs. Steemit, Diaspora, MeWe, Gab, Voat, I will check all of these today and educate myself. Thanks.
