I recently discovered a new social media site being built up. It is offering shares in the company to people who are some of the first to join. You can only join if you are referred, and everyone you refer will also get you a future share in the company.

Pretty cool idea check it out if you want!

Cool idea, but not sure how it will ever take off. All my friends reside on Facebook so why would I go hangout where none of them are?

If Google can't break in with all their $ to the social media market I think anyone else will have an even tougher time.

Well I guess making money out of it would be good. I am not going to signup though I don't trust such sites. Anyhow if anyone has done some tests and tried this out and it worked out for him/her tell me and I try it until then I won't do anything. The homepage seems to simple for me.

The concept of owning part of the site does sound a little appealing. But how do you allocate the shares though? I've read that shares of the company are in units called vshares. If so, how do you accumulate shares? Do you earn revenue with those shares?

I know there's a FAQ link there somewhere but asking directly seems more interactive; plus I'm lazy today. LOL :)

Let me see...

Give them your contact details. Invest money in the project. Get shares.

No detail of what's going on. No access to it, since it's in beta testing.

Sounds almost exactly like that thing that was going to be the next big thing a year or two ago (the 3D one).

I smell scam. Or dog poo. One or the other. :)
