Administrators Nathan Posted February 23, 2012 Administrators Posted February 23, 2012 I have heard others talk about using a Twitter Bot. It takes a thread title or post from your forum 1 time an hour and tweets it on your Twitter page. Anyone else heard of this? I wanted to take a look at it. Quote
Shole Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 There is a mod for Facebook and Twitter that does this I used it but it kinda spammed a lot and I disabled it. I mean it was ok but it shortened the url and it just posted the thread name and it looked really like a bot and really unprofessional . I didn't get anything positive from it. Quote
Creaky Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I use a site called Twitterfeed. It takes an RSS feed and posts it to Facebook &/or Twitter http://twitterfeed.com/ Quote

Creaky Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 It sends more traffic, not had any new registrations as yet though. Quote

Oh well if its quality traffic then its ok, but no registrations hm...you might have a few followers or the wrong followers. I have opened a new account and will target my followers Quote
bryce12 Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I have used TweetAttacks and it works amazingly well. It can follow, unfollow, reply to tweets at the click of a button. There's a free version available that does the job of follwing and unfollowing but if you want to do a lot more you can try the full version. The best thing about this tool is that it doesn't use the twitter API, so there's less chance of getting banned. Check it out at http://www.tweetattacks.com Quote
SpikeTheLobster Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Be careful with Twitter bots - Twitter are notoriously jumpy with the "ban" button. I know some folks who've been banned simply for auto-tweeting when they publish articles (which is far less frequently than once an hour), simply because they used a bot to do the tweet. Of course, they may have just been unlucky but it's definitely worth checking the rules before you start using one. Quote
ChuckTesta Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 That tweetattack actually looks pretty good. for my blog i do an auto facebook post and then that goes straight to twitter. However, if i can use tweetattack for my forums, that may be what i end up doing. currently it's all done manually. Quote
Godric Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I have been using tweet attacks for a long time now. Its mostly bots VS bots now in twitter. So I left it. You can get a free version of tweetattacks too. It only does Follow/unfollow. Other modules are disabled. If you want fake traffic I recommend using Twiends and twitclub. You will cross 2k in 3 days. Guarantee. Quote
DarkGizmo Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 There's always a few tweeted forum posts from a site i visit "Admin Forums" So I'm assuming they use a bot like the ones mentioned above. It does reach out to your audience. I might give it a try. Quote
Jessi Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 There are tons of them, but like mentioned above, please make sure you don't come off as spammy. If you don't have a lot of followers or you don't interact at all, don't expect to get much return from it. And if the only thing you're tweeting are those automatic updates, chances are you won't benefit at all. Quote
