Pinterest is the latest craze among social networking enthusiasts. It is a lot like twitter but instead of short text blurbs, you can pin your favorite picture and videos. Ths site is growing popular day by day, check the stats to see for yourself

Another interesting thing about Pinterest is that its users are mostly female within 25-44 age bracket. Now how do we profit from Pinterest craze?

I'm getting quite a bit of traffic from there because my target audience is women in that age group.

I'm starting to see more men show up there, though. They're trying to cash in on the market and doing well by posting funny pictures, good DIY crafts/projects/etc.

Hey nice profile Jessi.

I have created a profile over there just for the heck of it and posted about 50 pins . The amazing thing is that my site got about 100visitors from Pinterest in a matter of minutes. So I think it has got huge potential and we need to start pinning images on Pinterest to drive traffic to our sites.

I have heard great things about this site, but I have yet to check it out. BTW, women have a lot of buying power. It's seems like a great to build connections.

Seems like an interesting network. I'll have to check it out when I get some free time. It looks like it's grown to be quite popular which is always a good thing to see with sites like this. Is it an invite only system? If so, can someone invite me? codedfate [at] gmail.com

I sent an invitation to both of you. If anybody else is interested in trying it out, let me know and I'm happy to help. :)

Also, Hardison, you're right. Women do have a lot of buying power. You have to be careful on a place like Pinterest, though, because if you come off as spammy and only wanting their money, they're going to skip right over you.

I looked at it yesterday and I wasn't really impressed with it. When I opened the page, it had a big header telling me to join which just put me off from joining. Maybe if it grows, I will check it out but for now.. doesn't matter to me.

Just checked there Alexa out global ranking of 76 already? Flippin` heck! They should launch a revenue sharing system :) And only allow me to join the revenue share program mwahaha

Well, maybe there are some ways to monetize on it, in fact there's a program to do with images that could do just this, only problem is that I can't remember what it was, as I couldn't find another site to use there services on, oh well it'll pop-up again sometime, I bet.

I've been using Pinterest for my wordpress site. It's a HUGE plus especially if you offer a ton of images to your readers. The great thing about the pin it button is that ANYONE can pin an image from your site and they can put it on their wall for others to view. This can potentially send you a crazy amount of traffic. Once they come to your site... keep them there! I've rolled more traffic from pinterest than facebook and twitter COMBINED!

Seriously, if you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, do it now!

I am really not impressed. As I am not with Facebook, Twitter, G+ and all the others. I do believe we're wasting too much time on them to 'promote' when still the best way do to it is to have GOOD content on your site and be present in your niche. I do use these seldomly, but refuse to waste tens of billable hours just to be 'active' there. Most my traffic does NOT come from them, most my traffic still comes from google or the forums/blogs I am active and useful in :)

^^Right, but expanding your audience isn't a bad thing. Social networking opens up so many windows. If you're not doing it, you're losing a ton of potential traffic.

I didn't hear any success stories with Pinterest yet..

Where have you been?! The success stories are all over the place, hehe.

Could you send an invite to admin@talktechnews.co.uk

I just now saw this, so I'm a couple days late. I sent an invite, though. Enjoy and good luck!

How are you successful with it?

I pin stuff from my sites and people will like it and repin, but not much traffic to my sites.
