So I picked up http://forumlauncher.com/ yesterday. I mostly just wanted because I liked the domain.

Now not really sure what to do with it. I don't really see huge potential in keeping it up unless I spend a lot of time on it as the site is pretty new. I could just forward it here for the link juice, the site is PR1. I dunno or maybe I keep it up...

What do you guys think?

What do you mean link it? You mean as in forward it here? Then build links for the ForumLauncher.com domain?

I would. What do you ultimately see this site becoming? You say you bought it because of the name... i hope you didn't pay much. :) If that's the only reason.

I too like the name, but I wouldn't be buying domains unless i had a vision for it.

Nah only paid $50. I figured even if I didn't have time for it now, I'd grab it for a future project.

Don't really have any ideas for it yet, maybe I'll clean up the boards, re-organize, and see if it does something.

Yeah, with a fresh skin/theme, it wouldn't look too bad. If you personally don't want to dedicate time to it, get someone to admin it. I'm sure there are people who wouldn't mind doing that... profit sharing or something.

It's still in the transfer process and will be up on my servers on Monday/Tuesday, so we will see. I'll probably redesign and see if it gains any traction.

I remember that domain. A couple months ago that domain was for a forum. Isn't a great domain. I would say the value is around $30-$60 worth. But it can be a lot more if you grow a site with it.

The current site is really confusing, I'm having trouble trying to figure out what it offers.

The domain name itself though is absolutely perfect for a paid posting service. Starting that up would take a decent amount of work though, finding and managing content writers and dealing with transactions.

If you want to get the link juice, then just use 301 redirect rathar than forwarding. Its better in terms of SEO. Also the site isn't opening in my PC. That's a bit strange.

Yeah the old host took it down today. I'm still waiting for the domain to transfer over to GoDaddy. I had to create an account where he had it registered then push it.

He had with http://www.idotz.net/ site and interface was trash. Also takes 7 days for then to transfer the domain. That's the longest I've ever encountered.

Apparently the name suggest it all. And I will wager 100$ that he got that from a offer or something. No one will buy from a site with such a trashy look. I really hope you make some good cash with it.

How do you do a 301 redirect instead?

Based on the domain, I'd strongly suggest hosting forums for people (obviously placing ads on them in order to earn money). Similar to offers from competitors such as Zetaboards, and the former Invisionfree!

There is a new vision in mind for it now :) Currently under development but should see something there in the next few weeks.
